You have got to be true to yourself; you are unique and cannot be like anyone else.
As much as we love or admire them, you cannot be like your spouse, your parents or your mentors. You are you.
Know that no matter how hard you try, you cannot please everybody. Be kind, love others, be considerate but also be yourself, be real.
Be authentic; define who you are and the values you stand for, don’t be afraid to let the real you show.
Don’t short-change yourself by believing that you have to be a certain way to be accepted by others, people want the real you.
One of the most dangerous things to do on the journey to discovering yourself is to compare yourself with others.
If you would compare at all, compare yourself to you. Compare yourself to your past records to assess how well you are doing on your goals.
The Bible in 2 Corinthians 10:12 says those who compare themselves with others are not wise. You shouldn’t use another person’s journey as the standard by which you measure your progress. You will always seem to come up short.
Get over your insecurities, there is absolutely nothing to be insecure about, you are wonderfully made by God. He didn’t make a mistake when he made you, He saw you and called you good, worthy of His love and grace.
You may have some areas you would like to work on and we all do, no one is perfect. There is nothing to be ashamed about.
Know your weaknesses and work on them, know your strengths also and so you can celebrate and highlight them. Know that the truest things about you are the things God has said about you, be secure in God’s love.
Spend time alone, reflecting on your gifts and uniqueness, and be comfortable with your own company.
Make friends who build you up and validate you, distance yourself from those who make you feel less than when you are around them.
Choosing your associations wisely is one of the ways you can love yourself.
In the Bible, David had a mutually beneficial covenant relationship with Jonathan, they supported each other.
Find friends that accept you and support your dreams in any way they can.
Receive grace to discover and express yourself in Jesus name.
In His Love,
